Unit 6 - Themes in Folk Literature

In Unit 6 we will be reading Folk tales, Fables, Myths, and Legends. One great writer of Fables was Aesop. This link will take you to a site where you can find some of his famous Fables. PSSA PRACTICE

If you are interested in practicing reading and answering questions for the PSSA I have found a site for you. This site will allow you to read and answer questions to help you prepare for this all important test of your ability to read and analyze passages. After reading and answering the questions you may press Score and it will automatically score your test and give you the correct answers if you missed any. You can practice grade 6 material and grade 5 material. Once you get to the link just scroll down until you see grade 5 or 6 reading. You can also choose to practice math while you are there also!! Good luck!!
Well - as you know the PSSA is fast approaching and we have all been working hard to prepare for the week of March 16! I thougth you might this little bit of entertainment as a nice diversion to our busy schedule right now. Enjoy and beware of the Lion!!

During the month of March we will be studying adjectives. You know - the words that describe "how many" or "what kind"... Anyway, I thought it would be fun to start off the unit with a little School House Rock...Enjoy!!!!!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream and because of that dream he led the way to equality for many. January 19th is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Watch this video of his now famous speech to remember that all should be treated with equality and fairness no matter what race they are.
